Artist's Statement: Currently I have been experimenting with nonfunctional sculpture including altered pieces in the pit-firing process. Glaze is not used in the process. Chemicals are added to the firing to achieve beautiful primitive works of art. It is hard to explain the culmination of placing a naked piece of clay into the fire and achieving utopia.
