Artist's Statement: Cool water, warm earth and a human touch combined with the volatility of the flame, presents an object that is pleasing to the eye and enjoyable to use. The hand-built peplum top is layered with slips and inscribed with a narrative that offers an embellished exchange between the artist and the beholder. The body of the vase is enveloped in a satiny smooth glaze that invites the viewer to come closer and become engaged in the, almost believable, conversation.
