Artist's Statement: The making of pots for daily use has intrigued me throughout my career as a studio potter. This piece is one from a series of small oval vases. The basic form is thrown, altered and then assembled with handbuilt additions. My forms are simple, but often with some active surfaces and contrasting glazes. This interplay of form, proportion and glaze continues to challenge and surprise me.
