Artist's Statement: My love affair with vases and bottles stems from an early exposure to classic forms. The illusive curve of a well made pot is what challenges me to continue striving for that perfection. Focusing primarily on porcelain glazes seem to fit these forms beautifully. Opening the kiln reminds me of childhood feelings when opening presents on Christmas morning. My hope is that my work brings as much joy to the person viewing as I have in the making.

Coming back to clay after twenty years away has made me appreciate every aspect of clay and all possible ways a pot can be made. Which is why I also throw other kinds of forms, handbuild, extrude, assemble and when I have the opportunity, fire raku, wood fire, soda/salt and pit fire.
