Larry Davidson Buhl, Idaho Title: Bubble Vase Year of Creation: 2007 Glaze: Granite glaze with cobalt slip from Contact, Nevada Clay Body: Helmar & OM #4 Dimensions: Height 6.5 inches, Width 7 inches Artist's Statement: I make pots that we use in our daily living. I try and make pots that are enjoyable to use and visually engaging. After wood firing for several years and enjoying the surfaces that were created from firing with wood, I am now engaged in creating pots that speak of the process and materials they are made from, while not created for wood firing, do have something of the same feel aesthetically. I use rocks and wood ashes gathered from Southern Idaho and Northern Nevada in my glazes and have found they add to the texture of and enliven glaze surfaces thus giving the pots a life not easily possible using the more usual materials.
