Title: Smokestack Vase

Year of Creation: 2006

Glaze: Charlie's Steakhouse Blue Ash, yellow and Kim's Orange Brown

Clay Body: White Stoneware

Dimensions: Height 21 inches, Width 9 inches

Artist's Statement: Charlie's Steakhouse Blue Ash is derived from the ash pit at Charlie's Steakhouse in Orlando, Florida. Glazes are formulated to be fired at cone 6 oxidation. Ashes are being experimented with constantly and new colors and runs will be explored. I enjoy the vessel form and let the glaze enhance gentle curvatures.

I feel the ash glaze will also tend to enhance more sculptural pieces I'm making along with textured lichen glaze.
