Artist's Statement: Coming back to the clay after 20 years, recent work simply celebrates beauty, seeking sophisticated splendor. My hands begin each piece, broadening the perspective of the elegant rounded form with unique glazes and/or textures. Experimentation with gold leaf has added a richness to the surfaces. Out of my hands, into the fire, transformations both meticulously planned and spontaneously free complete the piece. Finally, into the hands of others. My work hopefully will bring joy to those who touch.
