Artist's Statement: Since 1956 I have appreciated the elegance of a pedestal vase. I love the subtle beauty of nature's earth colors. The design of this vase is a horizontal curvilinear "ocean wave" married to a "hammered copper" texture. My philosophy as a professional potter over the last five decades is to create an elegant form with a sculptural design that is harmonious with the shape. Simplicity is, in itself, a beautiful concept.
