Larry Dawson Cibolo, Texas Title: Viking Year of Creation: 2000 Glaze: Burnt umber stain and 05 glazes with 019 gold overglaze Clay Body: Terra cotta Dimensions: Height 6.5 inches, Width 6.5 inches Artist's Statement: This vase is one in a series of containers with ethnic characters as the theme. It is made with terra cotta clay. The vase is bisque fired to cone 1. It is then dipped in a solution of burnt umber oxide. Cone 05 glaze is brushed on then fired to cone 05. Gold is brushed on the helmet then vase is fired to cone 019.
