Artist's Statement: Much of my career has been devoted to creating new and ingenious "ceramic approaches" to achieving desired results. I try to make pots whose shapes and surfaces reflect upon, pay homage to and expand upon (but never slavishly imitate) the great pots that have been among the powerful influences in my past. I try to reinvent process and approach in a way that expands my visual literacy, and creates an aesthetic that is my own.
