Dale Dorosh Vallauris, France Title: Vase Azur Year of Creation: 2012 Glaze: Barium blue and chun blue fired to 1260 degrees celsius Clay Body: Limoge Porcelain Dimensions: Height 8 inches, Width 8 inches Artist's Statement: My work focuses on the creation of ceramic vessels that are simple and subtle in form, and that explore the numerous effects that can be obtained through the variation of different clay bodies, glazes and firing techniques. My approach is experimental and I am pleasantly aware that with ceramics these possibilities are infinite. The inspiration for this particular piece is the beautiful Mediterranean Sea in Nice, Cote d' Azur France. The colors of the two layered glazes are enriched on the Limoge Porcelain clay body. |
