Notes: Without a doubt, David Shaner is one of the giant killers of the American Studio Movement with his important ties to Alfred as a student and the Bray as a mentor to many. He exhibited at Syracuse Nationals at least 5 times. His early passing was a real loss to the Movement. I have listed this handle mug or vessel form, which appears to include the famous Shaner Red as part of the three flavor glaze combo. This is a superb example for the serious Modern collection.
