Greber
French Art Nouveau Ewer Marked:
Impressed mark of C. Greber, as shown. Condition:
No chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs. We do note a couple aged crazing lines
below the spout of the pot at the mid-body, which appear to be as made. There
are a few glaze pops(one larger noted at the base of handle) and some artist rendered
crudity in the making of the foot, which is all glazed over. This pot is in nice
collector condition with a ringing resonance. Dimensions:
3.334"h x 3"w Notes:
Vasefinder has been very lucky to locate only a couple of the pots from this important
French Art Nouveau Pottery, which is known for its killer forms and stunning drip
glazes. Charles Greber (1853-1935) worked in Beauvais, France from the late 19th
Century to just a couple years before his demise. This pot dates circa 1910.
