Artist's Statement: My work aligns itself with three basic principles: form, line and texture. Within the parameters of the ceramic vessel, my desire is to command an elegant and graceful presence, yet maintaining a subtle eminence of extravagance through my investigation of line, form and details. Form is my primary interest as an object-maker, followed by function then ornamentation. I am ultimately interested in formal investigations of line and detail to define form for my pottery. Furthermore, the curvilinear soft lines and sturdy forms, and accents of texture intertwine themselves amongst each other in many of my objects.
