Artist's Statement: What I look for in my work at this point is, a sculptural presence coupled with surface that seems to be born of the process. I was a physical, tactile sense and subtle shifts of color that were evidence of the swirl of the flame, almost as if a whisper from the kiln. I choose to layer materials and fire in a sodium atmosphere for most of my work form the past several years and feel that these qualities are best achieved for me in that way.
