Artist's Statement: I enjoy using the wheel to create forms that retain freshness and softness in their making that persists through the firing process. The way soft clay behaves, spinning on a slow moving wheel head, undulating and spontaneous, is what often inspires me. The firing process in a wood kiln seems to share this same improvisational quality.
