Jeff Campana Louisville, Kentucky, USA Title: Yellow Flowerhead Vase Year of Creation: 2009 Glaze: Green transparent, yellow satin matte Clay Body: Porcelain, cone 7 oxidation Dimensions: Height 11 inches, Width 8 inches Artist's Statement: I draw lines by dissecting and immediately reassembling each pot. The result is a surface decoration with structural implications. Each line is in fact a seam. A scar where it was once severed. This vase was designed to resemble the head of a flower just opening. The top portion it's stem, the yellow bottom portion it's petals. The drips of green glaze form a comfortable transition from one part to another. |
