Artist's Statement: I am drawn to the intricate beauty in nature and employ a complex process to translate this to the surface of my pots. After carving of a wheel thrown procelain vase, a plaster mold is created from the bisqued vase. After casting, the surface is re-carved to return the undercuts and details lost during the casting process. It is then polished after the bisque and high firings to enhance the unglazed porcelain surface.
