Artist's Statement: I am a desert dweller, and I am always intrigued with the many wonderful colors and textures of the desert. Although the form that I am submitting looks very much like a sea shell, it is actually and impression from a palm tree frond. The vastness of the desert reminds me that the desert was once a sea. I think that the treasures of the sea and desert have come together in this form.
