Artist's Statement: I have played in the clay since I was a preschooler. I threw my first pot at 12 years old, and I started taking classes at the age of 14. I played with clay as a hobby for 40 years until in 1999 when I opened a production studio and was working in the clay. After 8 years and tens of tons of clay later, I am playing again. This vase is the first in the second series of vases that combines the skill and technique of a production potter and the whimsy of the little girl that discovered clay so many years ago.
