Artist's Statement: I have layered multiple slips and glazes resulting in a visual experience that is almost tactile with Vasesilica. The comfortable classic shape and material, and the not so classic treatment of application are contrast. Salt firing the vase leaves evidence of salt's corrosive nature, and the tension between salt and silica, yet the last layer texture, pitting the surface.
