Artist's Statement: I get a thrill out of firing to cone 10 in reduction with my gas kiln. The one-of-a- kind variations produced in this type of firing keep me working towards the next firing to see what can happen. I make all my own glazes and continue to test and develop new ones. This vase is an example of my recent work. It is wheel thrown and altered with a textured the surface. I love making functional pots and I constantly strive for new forms as my work evolves.
