Artist's Statement: My work is informed by nature; the flowers I plant and the wildflowers that inhabit my woodlands. I carefully carve and polish the porcelain surface to encourage touch. It is through the intricately rendered floral images that I initiate the dialogue illuminating the significance of nature and promote its preservation. This piece was inspired by the book Botany of Desire by Michael Pollan.
