Artist's Statement: The plight of our planet's fellow creatures has absorbed me over the years and for the past 10 years, I have carved their images into my pots. The Humpback Whale is a magnificent and enigmatic creature. The rich, mysterious surface of burnished terra sigillata reflects their nature. The image emerges subtlety from the pot.
