Artist's Statement: I seek to exploit the natural plasticity of clay while allowing it to retain its more elemental color and texture. My pallet is rich and earthy, a combined effect of using layered glazes
and oxide brushwork and firing at high temperatures in a reduction atmosphere. There is a simplicity and gentleness to my work that satisfies me emotionally and spiritually. My goal is to create useful work that resonates with me and with my audience on a very basic level of sympathy and comfort.
