Artist's Statement: Making pots is about evolution. Not long ago, I tried to maintain control over surface and glaze. In reaction to that I gravitated toward a looser way of making pieces and glazes that I could not control if I tried. Perhaps the wood kiln, with its own tendency toward variation has nudged me in that direction. I am continually reinventing my line of work to keep the pieces fresh and alive.
