Artist's Statement: This vase was picked from an initial group of four vases started this spring. The inspiration is my growing interest in scholar's objects from the Ming and Qing Dynasties. In particular, the vessels and scholar's rocks that embody a sense of natural growth or formation combine with exquisite craftsmanship in the making and displaying of the objects.
