Artist's Statement: Art Imitates Nature

Over twenty years ago, my professor of an art appreciation class wrote this on the blackboard. This statement has always resonated with me.

I grew up on the shores of the east coast of Canada. My youth was filled with days of walking on sandy beaches. Sometimes tranquil, sometimes raging sea but always moving and flowing.

Now, I live in Colorado. I am moved by the beauty of rugged rocks and soaring mountains. All elements are reflected in my work. My art imitates nature.
