Artist's Statement: I have always looked to the elements of the earth like rocks and crystals, more recently my focus has shifted to the elements of Winter. Since developing a matt micro-crystalline glaze that is translucent and powdery like frost, my attention is now given to the immediate winter elements that surround me - bare jagged trees receiving visitations from lost fledgling eagles, fog, frost, ice-cold slabs of early morning clay.

An important facet in my work is beauty and vulnerability - the contrast between inhospitable cold, its outward glistening beauty and vulnerability of the things in its hold.
