Artist's Statement: This series of work uses a local earthenware as a glaze. It has a high iron content which I increased and added copper to produce a metallic surface. I have textured the surface so it looks like beaten metal. I was wanting to replicate the look of old iron forms that I had seen while studying in Japan. The work is high fired reduction to cone 10.
