Judi Dyelle Victoria, British Columbia, Canada Title: Kamloops Series Vase Year of Creation: 2012 Glaze: Albany Slip and local earthenware slip Clay Body: Porcelain Dimensions: Height 5.12 inches, Width 8.66 inches Artist's Statement: This series of work uses a local earthenware as a glaze. It has a high iron content which I increased and added copper to produce a metallic surface. I have textured the surface so it looks like beaten metal. I was wanting to replicate the look of old iron forms that I had seen while studying in Japan. The work is high fired reduction to cone 10. |
