Artist's Statement: Lori Theriault loves texture, both tactile and visual. Her relief carved pieces usually appear on smaller forms, as she has been prevented from working in larger size for the past two years due to a shoulder injury. The opportunity to collaborate with her studio-mate and friend Sarah Wells Rolland, who threw this vase, was a refreshing and invigorating return to a larger canvas, and has resulted in a growing series that the two are exploring and developing together.
