Artist's Statement: The Flower Block has been made from a slab of white earthenware paperclay, sliced through using stretched coils of wire. This technique creates strong tactile patterns on both the front and reverse of the piece.

Unglazed, the Flower Block becomes a light catcher and holder for dried flowers inspired by the principles of ikebana.
