Eunice Prieto Damron Yerington, Nevada, USA Title: Vase with Plant Decoration Year of Creation: 2013 Glaze: Cone 5 oxidation with wax decoration and iron brushed over Clay Body: Navajo Wheel 35 Dimensions: Height 6.75 inches, Width 4.334 inches Artist's Statement: I started working with clay at Alfred University, Alfred, New York in the early 1940's. It has always been a great pleasure designing forms and working with the raw materials and colorants. In Oakland, California, I helped my son Mark build a high kiln and a salt kiln. I taught ceramics at Mills College, Laney College, Walnut Creek and Studio 1 and 2, Oakland. I helped design a ceramic gallery at Mills College and gave hundreds of piece to Mills in memory of Tony Prieto. |
