Artist's Statement: I look to the architecture of the Islamic world as a source of structural and surface information for the functional pottery. I'm particularly fascinated by the stacking, nesting, and repetition of geometric forms, and multiple geometries of surface pattern.

This series of vases was modeled on a computer, printed on a 3D prototyper, and cast in porcelain. Working this way calls into questions of craft, the hand of the maker and design.
