Sandrine Chaussende Salvador Laghey, County Donegal, Ireland Title: Celtic Birds Year of Creation: 2008 Glaze: Liner glaze only Clay Body: Red stoneware Dimensions: Height 54.10 inches, Width 31.4 inches Artist's Statement: I'm a French ceramic artist for 15 years. I'm a member of the Craft Council of Ireland since 2008. I have sold my creations in the Donegal Craft Village since July of 2012. The Enchanted Earth is a result from my passion for clay and for the world of the Celts, as the symbols I engrave on the vase come from Celtic Art as well as the imagery of the Arthurian Legend. This vase was designed traditionally with the hand. I devoted the vase to the Celtic Festival Beltane on a stone circle (the Beltane Circle) in the north of Ireland. A photograph of the piece in the stone circle as well as a certificate and the symbol of the birds will be provided to any purchaser. |
