Artist's Statement: Human existence is rather a simple matter: birth, life and death. We all follow the same essential pattern. Yet, within the course of each individual life is magnificent complexity. From geo-physical properties of our environment, to individual variation within the species and all the range of historical/political forces that play upon each of our lives, life is complex.

This interplay of simplicity and complexity interests me. It drives my work. As a poet strives to display a personal mythology to dialogue about the human condition, so I strive enter in a similar dialogue, three dimensionally, with ceramics. The work represents a record of the conversation and an opportunity for me to continually refine and display my ideas about the world.
