Artist's Statement: The first hexagram of the I ching refers to the dragon rising from the deep as symbolizing what is great, originating, powerful, firm and correct. I see it as the unseen energy behind what we do as Artists and the Greater Power that gets every human through life on a daily basis. Through spiritual practice we learn to become conscious of how to use this power to benefit ourselves and others. And it comes in mighty handy when I'm hauling bundles of dead limbs out of the woods for kiln fuel.
