Artist's Statement: My work is made using a mixture of local clays. The pots are mostly thrown using a momentum kick wheel. My pots are influenced by English Medieval and Japanese pottery. I started making a living from my work after leaving Derby College of Art in 1987. My first pottery was at Powdermills Dartmoor Devon. My current workshop and home is at Moretonhampstead Devon. I am fascinated by the process of long wood firings. I manipulate the fire and am constantly searching for different and exciting effects from the wood fired kiln.
