Artist's Statement: I have been exploring zinc silicate macro-crystalline glazes for more than a decade. While most artists working in this technically challenging process fire their glazes to cone 10, I have been exploring the possibilities at a lower temperature range, specifically cone 6. Though a slightly different esthetic, I have discovered very satisfactory results opening possibilities to more artists interested in this process. My latest work has led me to multiple thrown parts assembled into four and five piece forms to further explore the possibilities of the interaction between crystalline and stoneware glazes.
