Artist's Statement: Living along the Mississippi River, I'm influenced by the water, the landscape, and its people. My vessels are forged from a blending of these consequences. This year my pottery has been fired in a gas kiln, in reduction, to stoneware temperatures. I apply clay slips, metal washes and glazes to the bisque ware. I like the broad color palette and earthy richness the gas kiln brings to my vessels.
