Vasefinder is offering this very powerful mini weedpot by one of the important
artists of the American Movement, whose history is finally coming to light to
collectors around the globe. Doyle Lane was born and reared in New Orleans, Louisiana.
He would later study at Los Angeles City College and USC, where he was a student
of Carlton Ball and Vivika Heino. His career is well documented in the seminal
references for modern objects and their artists Objects:USA by Lee Nordness,
as well as African American Art and Artists by Samella Lewis. If
you don't own a pot by this artist, then your American collection has fallen short
of obtaining one of the true glaze gurus of the American Movement. He is best
known for these small weed pot forms, whose glaze design will keep future generations
guessing on their fantastic organic design. This is a rare opportunity, and sure
to complement your collection of Natzler and Cabat Feelie pots. Don't miss out
on this very rare opportunity! They just don't come along that often. Collectors
refuse to ever sell any of their Doyle Lane Pots because they are so precious. Email
