Carol M. Nickerson (1894-1994)

Marked: Incised CCS with initials CN of the artist.

Condition: There are no chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs. Beautiful striations in the glaze. Some unevenness of the top lip, which is strictly from making, as well as minor factory stilt from the production process.

Dimensions: 4.5"h X 3.75"w

Notes: Vasefinder is offering this very powerful vase form. This pot was created by Carol M. Nickerson, a Syracuse National exhibitor. She had ties to the important Clay Craft Studios, where she worked with Mary Yancey Hodgdon. Work from this studio is rare from experience and so this a great offering for the serious studio collection. This pot is very similar in form to some of the Rhead Era Arequipa pots I have seen. This vase is sure to complement your bungalow or transitional studio collections.
