by Chalres Blosser, Ceramics in the collection of the Bank of America,
Nice Lung-Chuan Glazes by Harold McWhinnie, I-hsing teapots, Ball
State Alumni International, the years pottery exhibitions and shows across the
country. Article on Sculptures and Potters written by L.P. Levine
mentioning Richard Notkin's work, Joanne Hayakawa,
Howard Kottler's class on decals, and Gifford Meyers,
etc. There is detail on the B of A ceramic collection showing pieces by
Bill Albright, Bob Nichols, Stanley Heap, David Heffer
of Berkeley etc. Article on Karl Blum's and George Pelner's
pottery operation in Westerwalder using traditional cobalt salt glazed forms.
Wim Muhlendyck shown at work making pottery. International prize
winners at Faenza are featured including artists Orlandini Mirko, Rick Pope,
Betty Woodman, Dennis Parks, Sally Bowen-Prange to name a few. Article
on Five Solo exhibitions including work done by Toby Buonagurio, Stephanie
DeLange, Scott Malcolm, Maria Artemis Sawyer, and David Silverman.
Feature article on the work of Dora De Larios including her decorated
plates, tiles and mosaic wall murals. Talk of the May Show at the Cleveland Museum
of Art where Toshiko Takaezu was one of the judges. Gary Schappal
and George Roby are a few who were in the event. Mikhail Zakin
wrote and article on Throwing layered forms. Nice article on Alice Munn
and her salt fired pottery forms. Lots of I-hsing tea pot forms shown in a large
article. There is mention of a Peter Voulkos workshop in
the back which was sponsored by the Alumni of Newcomb College, Tulane Univeristy.
John Wenzel, Lydia Yin, Jody Hoffman and Karen St. Jean
pieces shown. David Leach is shown shown holding a workshop on a
tour in June and working on a porcelain bowl. Other pieces shown include those
by Geoffrey Swindell, Rolf Overberg, Zeljko Kujundzic, Tenryu Kaneda, Kotaro
Hayashi, Clifford Jacobs, Louise McCagg, Judi fineberg, Ada Quick, Donald Mavros,
Edith Franklin, Catharine Hiersoux, Thomas batty, Marilyn Mackenzie, Ann Rahe,
Joseph Molinaro, Pam Cook. There is even a mention of the American Art
Pottery exhibit at the Delaware Art Museum featuring Rookwood art pottery, Marblehead,
Middle Lane , Chelsea Keramic Art Works - CKAW, Grueby, University City, and Van
Briggle pottery on exhibit. Some Rookwood, Grueby and Van Briggle pieces are shown.
