- Ceramics of Brother Thomas - 2001 Condition: Nice collector condition with one slight 1/2" bend to lower right corner of cover Notes: This 25 page soft cover book is the exhibition book published in conjunction with the 2001 exhibit of Brother Thomas ceramics held at the Museum of Fine Arts in Springfield, Massachusetts from September 21, 2001 to January 6, 2002. The book contains numerous photo's and text detailing the work and inspiration of this famous self-taught potter who until 1983 was a member of the Benedictine Monastery of Weston Priory. There are several full page B/W photo's of Brother Thomas in his studio working with clay along with many color photo's of his pottery vases, bowls and plates in various glazes. Brilliant glazes in purple, yellow matt, oxblood, oil spot glazes, rose red copper, blue celadon, copper red, iron yellow and ivory glazes are featured in this book. The back has a detailed listing of numerous vases in this exhibit including pieces dating back to the early 1960's. The back also has a section detailing the marks used by this well known potter going back to 1953. Lots of photo's in this book.
